A bit windy in the Village this morning but not cold, quite mild really…there was a little ice of the road first thing, a good reminder of the real winter is coming and the need to recognise and appreciate the ground conditions…it’s all about being safe…

It looks clear up on the Crossing but the wind chill’s still below zero -5 ‘warming’ up to -1 this afternoon…that means there a reasonable chance that any wet surfaces on the ground may be icy, ‘specially those areas that don’t get much sun…

Looking further ahead, maybe some more grumpy weather coming through on Tuesday but no snow(!!!) so keep an eye out for grumpy skiers as well…

With on two weeks til the season opens on 2 July, we’re all hoping for some brutal cold conditions so that the snow makers can go to work even if Mother Nature is a bit tardy about coming to the party (there is fashionably late and then is just being a pain…)

Oh Dear…

Well, as start-ups go, that was pretty dismal…got horribly overtaken by events, forgot about this and then lost all the access details…

Oh, well, these things happen but we’re back now and we mean to stay…yes, really, this time…for sure…

Over the next wee while, we’ll up date all the info while using regular (hopefully daily) post to you all up to speed on what’s the haps up here in New Zealand’s highest permanently occupied village…
